Relationship Issues
So many of our problems are relational in nature. We might find ourselves in conflict with a loved one, feeling misunderstood by our boss, or speaking to ourselves with the same abusive language as a bully from our past. In working with clients* experiencing difficulty in a romantic, familial, workplace, or friend relationship, I support clients in exploring relevant relational patterns and associated emotions to illuminate and clarify the challenging relational dynamic. This process may involve developing insight into the client's early attachment patterns, which often contribute to present-day relationship difficulties. Armed with this insight, we will explore whether we want to keep these patterns or let them go in service of interacting in new ways. Work on relationship issues may involve experimenting with new boundaries, perspective-taking, vulnerability, and assessing the health of your relationships. Through therapy, it is my hope that all my clients develop a better understanding of themselves in the context of their relationships.
*I work with individuals only; I am not accepting couples/families at this time
